Hi, my name is Duchess! I love to be busy, both physically and mentally. Do you like your crosswords to work your brain? Well I love the dog version of those things, like puzzle feeders, Kongs, and other activities and toys that work my brain activities. Do you enjoy running or hiking or any other fun activities? I would love to go with you to get my workout in as well! If you have an active home, then I'm the energetic canine companion for you! I would need to meet any other dogs before heading home! Duchess is available on a first come, first served basis. To meet this pet, please come to the shelter during adoption hours, fill out a survey with your information, and then you'll meet with an adoption coordinator who will introduce you and walk you through the adoption process.

The Shar Pei is a distinctive breed known for their deep wrinkles and blue black tongue. Originally from China, these medium sized dogs are loyal, independent, and protective of their families. Shar Peis have a unique appearance with a hippopotamus like face and a broad, padded muzzle. Their coat can be either horse coat or brush coat, coming in a variety of colors. While they can be aloof with strangers, Shar Peis are devoted companions with a calm demeanor, making them wonderful family pets.
