DESCRIPTION
TAKING APPLICATIONS NOW! REMEMBER RILEY?
Rory and her brother were in rough shape when they came to us a few short weeks ago! Your donations provided medical care, TLC and the second chance Rory needed to live her best life! She gets spayed this week and will be ready for adoption this weekend!
Riley is about 4-5 months old. She's friendly, happy and will make a great family member. We can only guess on breed and think she may be a mix of herding breeds such as australian shepherd and/or cattle dog. Puppies require a long term committment and we are looking for fuEVER families where they will be loved and cared for their entire lives.
Augusta Dog Adoptions is a foster-based, 501c3 nonprofitrescue. We take applications online and schedule individual adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. ABOUT: AUSTRALIAN CATTLE DOG BLUE HEELER DOG BREED
The Australian Cattle Dog, also known as the Blue Heeler, is a hardworking and intelligent breed originally developed in Australia for herding cattle. Renowned for their endurance and agility, these medium sized dogs have a striking blue or red speckled coat and alert, curious expression. With a strong herding instinct and boundless energy, they require mental stimulation and physical activity to thrive. Blue Heelers are loyal, protective, and make excellent companions for active individuals or families willing to provide the engagement and exercise they need.
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
