Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!): 20 lbs as of 4/28/26
Gets Along With: Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training. She currently lives with another dog and two cats and is doing well.
Currently Living at: DC area foster home
Special Adoption Considerations: Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.
Buttercup is Looking For: Hi! I'm Buttercup. The three of us - Black Cherry, Balto, and Buttercup - have enjoyed growing up together but now we're ready to split up and get our own human families. I'm looking for a home where I get to play to get all my puppy zoomies out and snuggle when I'm all pooped and to explore the world with my humans once I'm old enough! I want to make lots of pup pals too! And I want to go to puppy school, too, so I can show how super smart I am.
What My Foster Says About Me: Buttercup is a sweet, affectionate puppy with the cutest puppy-dog eyes. She loves being pet and will happily melt into you for snuggles. Buttercup quickly became best friends with our dog and has been curious but respectful of our two cats.
At adoption events, Buttercup likes going around to say hi to the other dogs and loves the attention she gets from kids stopping to pet her.
She’s also doing really well with her routine at home, sleeping through most of the night and only needing one potty break.
Puppy Vetting Requirements: Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.
Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog! TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog
