More About Daisy May the Kid Approved Sweetheart
You know that dog who just fits into a family like she’s always been there? That’s Daisy May the kind of dog you meet once and immediately start picturing in your life. Like… family movie nights? She’s curled up right in the middle. Kids running around? She’s right there, gently soaking it all in like she’s always belonged. She has this incredibly sweet, soft nature about her that just fits into a family dynamic so naturally, it’s almost like she was made for it. And her size? Perfect. Not too big, not too small, just the ideal little sidekick you can take anywhere and include in everything. She might take a minute to warm up at first, just quietly observing and figuring things out, but once she knows you? That’s it. You’ve got a loyal little shadow who just wants to be part of your everyday life, whether that’s helping with chores, hanging with the kids, or snuggling in at the end of the day.

Daisy May is believed to be a Cattle dog/heeler mix approximately 1 year old and currently weighs about 30lbs. She is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it’s always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age.
Isn’t she the sweetest thing ever?! We totally agree and so do her foster parents. They cannot stop raving about her and have said she is easy going, sweet as can be, a great companion, and just loves to be included. Daisy brings cuteness, curiosity, and a whole lot of love. She’s playful, sweet, and oh so cuddly, with a personality as big as her heart. Her daily routine? Eat, sleep, play, snuggle, repeat! Not only does she have a sweet and gentle personality, but Daisy is wonderful with kids and is currently fostered in a home with children ranging in ages 11 months to 6 years old. She is so sweet and loving with kids and is even a gentle princess with the baby. You’ll see in her video how incredibly loving and gentle she is with the baby. It’s the sweetest thing, and she would make a wonderful companion for a family with kids.
When it comes to other dogs, she has the sweetest little heart and can feel a little unsure when meeting new friends right away. When she’s feeling nervous she may show her cute little teefers or tuck her tail, which is simply her way of saying she needs a moment to figure things out. It’s all part of her learning that new doggy friends can be safe and fun. The good news is that her interest in other dogs is very much there, she just needs a bit of reassurance in the beginning and to be with dogs that give her that space to do so. With gentle introductions and kind, patient male dog companions, she begins to relax and show more of her playful, happy side. She’s still building confidence and discovering that making new friends can be a wonderful thing.
Because of this, she would do best with a calm, friendly male dog who has good social manners and a kind, reassuring personality. A dog who is happy to invite her to play, but also respectful enough to give her little breaks when she needs them, would be a wonderful match. With the right canine buddy and a supportive home, we believe her confidence will continue to blossom and she’ll grow into a happy little member of the pack. She would also be just as happy being your one and only fur baby too. When it comes to cats, that cattle dog/heeler side really shows itself and will chase a cat, so no kitties for this little lady.
Daisy is already so well behaved and according to her foster, already has wonderful house manners too. She is mastering her leash skills and comes prepped already knowing a couple of basic commands such as sit and is eager to learn any new tricks you want to teach her. She loves treats, is eager to please, and has already proven she's a smart little girl. The perfect trifecta for any additional training you would like to do with her in the future. It’ll be an enjoyable bonding experience for you both.
Daisy would thrive in a home with a backyard where she can romp around, stretch her legs, play with her toys, and relax in the sun. It doesn’t take much to make her happy. Daisy loves to play with toys and will happily keep herself entertained with a toy or you’ll find her snuggling up with your kids. She has a well balanced energy and can match whatever you want from her. In all honesty though, she is completely happy being a total couch potato as well.
We are willing to test Daisy May with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know.

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready.
