DESCRIPTION

Perfectly petite, with a love for squeaky toys and a silly, goofy side that is guaranteed to make you smile daily… this is Bailey. In addition to a smile, two other things you can count on every day: a squeaky toy serenade and full-body cuddles. The sweet simplicity of this girl is just too good.

Go watch Bailey Bee on YouTube, then come right back to see why this petite sweetheart might be exactly what your home is missing.

Bailey is estimated to be around 1.5 years old and weighs 34 lbs. She appears to be a cattle dog mix, but as always with rescue, breed and age are our best guess. What we do know for sure is that she’s full of personality… equal parts loving companion and playful goof, with just the tiniest interest in being the manager of movement (aka, herding). She has been around kids ranging from 5–15 and will happily join in a fun running session, gently herding along the way but without the typical nipping often seen in cattle dogs.

In her foster home, Bailey has proven herself to be a very affectionate, people-loving girl with wonderful house manners. She forms strong bonds and enjoys being close to her humans, but she’s also shown that she can handle a little independence too. She may check in on her people (or casually keep tabs from across the yard), but she doesn’t fall apart when she’s on her own. Think “loyal sidekick” energy, not clingy shadow. That said, she does enjoy companionship, both from her people and other dogs. Her foster shared that she may feel a bit lonely if she were frequently home alone without another dog, so while she doesn’t need a canine companion, she would likely enjoy one with the right match. She’s currently living with an older small dog who isn’t quite as interested in her play invitations, but she remains respectful and adaptable.

Let’s talk about her social style with other dogs, because Bailey has opinions… polite ones. She does best with low to medium energy dogs who respect her space and allow her time to warm up. If another dog comes in too strong, she keeps it fair and clear with a “that’s enough, thank you.” And once things settle? You’ll start to see her playful side peek out… sometimes even joining in a game of chase, preferably as the one doing the chasing.

With people, Bailey is all heart. She’s been around children and has done wonderfully, showing off her affectionate, easygoing nature with a side of sneaky kisses. Because of her herding instincts, a home with younger kiddos may just need a little awareness and guidance, but overall she is warm, social, and very loving.

She walks nicely on leash without much pulling, settles well in her space, and her foster describes her as a quieter dog overall… making her a possible fit for apartment living as long as she gets her daily dose of connection and play.

Now, one note on cats… Bailey has shown strong interest in chasing a cat outdoors, so while we wouldn’t rule it out entirely, she would need slow, thoughtful introductions and further testing in a home environment. For now, a cat-free home may be the easiest path forward, but we’re always happy to set up a little “Kitty Committee Slumber Party” to learn more about her in a home setting.

At the end of the day, Bailey is one of those dogs who brings both personality and heart. She’ll make you laugh with her squeaky-toy serenades, then turn right around and remind you she’s just a soft, affectionate girl who wants to be loved.

If you’re looking for a loyal, slightly silly, very lovable companion who will keep you company and make you smile… Bailey is ready and waiting. Apply to adopt Bailey and welcome her home!
