Looking for a loyal companion with a calm, gentle personality? Meet Waylon, a 6-year-old Anatolian Shepherd mix who's ready to find a loving family to call his own.

Waylon came to the shelter as a stray, so we have very little information about his past. What we do know is that he has been a calm, easygoing gentleman during his time with us. He enjoys spending time with people and has a relaxed demeanor that makes him a wonderful companion.

Waylon recently participated in a dog playgroup and did well with the other dogs. He was respectful and social, but he seemed to prefer the company of calmer canine friends. Because of this, we believe he would thrive in a home with a laid-back dog rather than a young, high-energy playmate.

Thursday: 10 AM–12:30 PM & 2 PM–6:30 PM
Saturday: 9 AM–1 PM

If you do not own your home, please bring written consent from the property owner allowing a dog on the property. If you have another dog at home, please plan to bring them for a meet-and-greet before completing the adoption.

7 months–5 years: $200
6–10 years: $150
11 years and older: $100

The Anatolian Shepherd is a large and powerful ancient breed known for its loyalty, intelligence, and protective nature. Originating in Turkey, these dogs were bred to guard livestock from predators, showcasing their strong natural instincts. Anatolian Shepherds have a distinctive short double coat that comes in various colors, with a black mask common on their faces. They require early socialization and consistent training to manage their independent yet devoted temperament effectively.

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity.
