Meet our newest DSDA puppy... Rosie!

Rosie's story started in a Dallas mechanic shop, where she was born after her mom rejected the litter. One of the shop owners never gave up trying to find help for this sweet girl, and a Good Samaritan stepped in to get her to safety. After a much-needed bath (actually two!), a full belly, and a safe place to rest, it was clear Rosie was ready for a fresh start.

Then Robert & Patty opened their home to foster her and gave her the perfect name: Rosie! A nod to her mechanic shop beginnings and the iconic Rosie the Riveter.

At just 8 weeks old and about 15 pounds, this gorgeous Anatolian Shepherd mix has a lot of growing left to do. She's incredibly sweet, loves being near her people, and has already fallen head over paws for her foster brother, Frank. The two are quickly becoming the cutest duo.

ADOPTION FEE Covers: Core vaccines plus Lepto and Flu, all boosters, microchip, dewormer until clear fecal test & spay or neuter when completed by a DSDA vet partner plus any necessary medical care. All dogs are on flea, tick and heartworm prevention and you receive the following month's preventatives complementary with your adoption!

Puppies (12 months and under) - $325

Dogs (over 12 months) - $275

Qualifications for Adoption: No dog is alike and each dog has different requirements based on breed, age, energy level and life experiences. DSDA is very careful to place our dogs in homes that we believe are the best fit for the dog based on our experience with each dog. All of our dogs live in foster homes which allows us the opportunity to learn about their individual needs.


Must be home more than not.
Vet checks are required! All resident pets in the applicant's home MUST be spayed or neutered, core vaccines up to date and dogs on heartworm prevention to be considered! No exceptions.
Must be 21 years or older with identification showing present address.
Must have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household.
Must receive proof of pet deposit and lease allowing pets if renting.
Willingness and capacity to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and responsible care for a pet.
Must have a secure fence if in a house.
All poisonous plants must be removed from the yard.
DSDA is located in Dallas and requires a home visit on every adoption so only adopt to Dallas and surrounding areas.

The Anatolian Shepherd is a large and powerful ancient breed known for its loyalty, intelligence, and protective nature. Originating in Turkey, these dogs were bred to guard livestock from predators, showcasing their strong natural instincts. Anatolian Shepherds have a distinctive short double coat that comes in various colors, with a black mask common on their faces. They require early socialization and consistent training to manage their independent yet devoted temperament effectively.
