NAME: Rocky
BREED: Anatolian Shepherd mix
GENDER: Male
AGE: 5 years
SIZE/WEIGHT: Large
'
TEMPERAMENT: Rocky is shy and extremely loving and devoted to those he knows that loves him. He’s an independent type of dog yet wants to be near people but not under their feet. He wants to sleep in dog bed at night next to your bed, hence, he wants that one on one company (like most all dogs :). Rocky is a mellow boy. He is quiet, unassuming, and a great companion. You feel naturally safe too when he is nearby. Rocky has big round warm brown eyes and when he looks at you he is speaking with them. Rocky is an old soul type. He is middle ranking. Rocky is very studley, handsome, self assured. He is a homebody type, but likes adventures in car and park.

PERSONALITY: For a big boy, Rocky is an easy dog to care for. He listens most of the time, wants basic things such as playing with you when tossing a toy, running around the yard, the bigger the better. He enjoys some big playful young dogs to run with. He can play sort of rough with them, since they’re big dogs playing. Rocky enjoys laying around the house after a nice walk and or run. He is non destructive, good around the cats. He can be somewhat protective especially when strange men come inside meaning, barks at them. It’s a warning and he listens well and quiets down once learns they are friends. Then he wants them to go outside and throw his favorite rubber bouncy toy or ball. Be sure you can throw far, since a few strides, and he’s already at the ball! Rocky has a loving personality soon as he warms up to you and knows you are his friend. Let's just say, he’s not a Golden Retriever! He’s a bit more reserved and picks and choses his friends. Once he knows you he is very dedicated and follows your lead. He’s been good around dogs of all sizes and types, kids and cats. Well-mannered children :). Rocky is a calm dog.

PETS NEEDS: Exercise, a leader. He’s a sensitive boy. Would not like a noisy loud place. A calm home for him.

BEST MATCH: A leader-type adopter since Rocky needs one to follow, not lead, so good leadership skills are needed to prevent him from guarding unnecessarily. Rocky is good at home by himself inside, he relaxes on his dog bed.
'
FAVORITE THINGS: Fetching his ball people throw for him. Going places with his people, parks, walks, hikes and big playful dogs. Toys, bones and antlers to chew, balls to chase when thrown. Tasty real people food, kibble not so much. So good real food for him a must! Rocky is good in the car, likes going places with his person and or family.
