2272 Sweet Pea - American Staffordshire Terrier Dog for Adoption in Springfield, Missouri

ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS

FENCED YARD
AGE APPROPRIATE CANINE COMPANION (maybe her sister??)

Meet Mis Sweet Pea...She and her sister Daphne (2165) were found as strays abandoned by their mother at the age of about 4-5 weeks. The veterinarian could not determine an exact age. DNA testing confirmed that she is a Staffordshire American Pitbull Terrier mix. She is about 24 weeks old and weighs appx 20lbs. She will get a little bigger but not much. Sweet Pea had a broken hind leg when she was found. She was taken directly to the veterinarian and with treatment and a calm and caring foster home her leg healed well and now does normal activity with no hindrance.

Sweet Pea is very sweet and loves snuggles when she is not vigorously playing with her toys or doing zoomies around the house. She loves running in the yard with her foster mom’s two miniature dachshunds and is good around larger dogs and people of all ages including small children. She is a puppy so she is still curious about things and people. Sweet Pea is very smart and wants to please her human and have their attention. She is crate trained, knows some commands and is doing well with going outside to potty.

If you like the breed but not the size, she is a perfect combo. She is so little and will likely stay small.

The American Staffordshire Terrier, also known as the Amstaff, is a medium sized, muscular breed known for its loyalty and courage. Developed in the United States, they are intelligent and affectionate dogs, making them great family companions. With a distinctive short coat and strong build, American Staffordshire Terriers are often misunderstood due to their past as fighting dogs, but they are actually loving and playful pets when raised in a nurturing environment. They thrive on human interaction and are eager to please their owners.
