Beaux didn’t come from a home. He came from a boat ramp.
For weeks, he stayed in the same spot where he had been dumped, surviving off the kindness of strangers and holding onto the only thing he had left — a yellow squeaky toy he carried around like it mattered. He slept in the brush, walked up to anyone who would acknowledge him, and waited.
And somehow, through all of that, he stayed exactly who he is.
Today, Beaux is safe and in the care of the Wood County Sheriff’s Office Animal Adoption Program, where he’s been settling in and showing everyone the dog he’s been all along.
He’s friendly, people-oriented, and has a way of leaning into you like he already knows you’re his. He seeks out connection, welcomes attention, and carries himself with a quiet confidence that’s hard to miss.
Beaux will benefit from continued structure and guidance as he transitions into home life, especially with things like leash handling and general routine. Like many dogs who have had to figure things out on their own, he’s still learning what consistency looks like — but he’s more than willing to meet you there.
What matters most is this: he made it out, and he’s ready for what comes next.
Beaux is looking for a home that can give him stability, patience, and a real place to land — not just for now, but for good.
