She was found abandoned in a residence in Georgia after her owners were evicted, left behind to face an uncertain future alone. As if that wasn't heartbreaking enough, Melissa was also battling the deadly Parvo virus. Through it all, this remarkable girl never gave up.

Melissa is both blind and deaf, but don't let that fool you: she navigates the world with determination, confidence, and a heart overflowing with love. She has learned to rely on her other senses and quickly bonds with the people who show her kindness and patience.

Despite everything she has endured, Melissa remains sweet, affectionate, and eager to be loved. She doesn't dwell on her past; she simply looks forward to each new day and every gentle touch from the people she trusts.

Melissa is searching for a patient and compassionate family willing to see beyond her special needs and recognize the extraordinary dog she truly is. In return, she will offer a level of devotion, gratitude, and love that is impossible to put into words.
