If you follow the Ozark Humane Society you may remember beautiful Jane at our shelter in late 2024. The last picture is of Jane that December at our shelter.
In early 2025, Jane was adopted to an individual that had "secured and fenced acres". Unsupervised, Jane apparently got out and was found by a good Samaritan, starving with a severe head wound, miles from her "home". After multiple visits, our vet made the recommendation to get Jane to a specialist for a CT scan. She traveled with two of our loving volunteers to a specialist veterinarian in Ft. Smith. The CT scan revealed, to our dismay, that Jane had been shot. Her wound is mostly healed now and she is healthy and ready to go to a loving home.
In spite of this mistreatment, Jane is still loving and affectionate, wanting to go on walks and car rides, to be petted to have treats and to be loved.
If you would like to visit her, our office hours are 10:30 am to 5:00 pm. and we are closed to the public on Wednesdays and Sundays.
