Shyla: Staffordshire Terrier mix 5 yrs female (47lbs)
Introducing our little cutie, Shyla! This sweet girl was abandoned on a large property when her owners moved away. The neighbors spotted her running loose after her owners had been gone for several weeks and called Animal Control. Shyla was so relieved to see help that she happily hopped in the officers truck. She was taken to the county shelter, but then sat waiting there for seven long months before we saw her there and rescued her.
When we first brought Shyla to our shelter, she was very confused, scared, and stressed. Little by little, she's relaxing and starting to enjoy life. We know she was used as a greeter dog at the county shelter, but we havent been able to find her a playmate just yet, we're working on it. She loves to go for walks and is polite and well-mannered. She never has accidents in her kennel area so we believe that shes housebroken. Shyla can sometimes take awhile to warm up, but get out some treats and she's not shy at all. She gets very excited about treats! Shyla has spent way too long in a shelter environment. She needs a home that she can call her own and a person or family to love her forever. If you think that might be yours, please complete our application to take Shyla home and out of the shelter for good.
