Bumi is one of those dogs.

Bumi is a handsome black-and-white pittie mix, about 312 years old and approximately 65 pounds. He once had a person and a home of his own. Sadly, when his owner became seriously ill and entered hospice care, Bumi had to be surrendered. The person he loved was gone, and Bumi’s life changed through no fault of his own.

He spent time in a foster home, but today Bumi is back in boarding—and he is struggling there.

The constant noise and unfamiliar surroundings are frightening for him. This loyal, sensitive boy wasn’t meant to spend his days wondering what’s happening around him. He needs the one thing boarding cannot give him: a quiet place where he can finally exhale and know that he is safe.

And underneath that worried boy is such a wonderful dog.

Bumi is incredibly loyal and devoted. Once he trusts you, he wants to be right by your side. He isn’t looking for a house full of excitement—he’s looking for his person. Someone he can follow from room to room, curl up beside at the end of the day, and love with his whole heart.

He’s smart, affectionate and naturally protective of the people he loves. Because Bumi bonds so deeply with his person, he would do best as the only dog in the home, where he can enjoy the security and attention he has been missing for so long.
