MiMi and Duchess (sweet, house-trained, bonded pair) - American Staffordshire Terrier and Labrador Retriever Dog for Adoption in Audubon Park, Kentucky

MEET DUCHESS AND MIMI:

A pair of young adult (approx 1 year old) terrier mixes, most likely sisters, that are sweet, well-behaved and ready to find a home of their very own.

These girls were turned in twice at Miami Dade Animal Services in a matter of three months. Their owner, a young, single mother, tried, but just couldn't make it work. She told shelter staff that she, 'could barely feed her kids and keep a roof over their heads,' and that she just couldn't handle anything else- not even these two sweet dogs. We send uplifting energy to that woman and her kiddos. Something tells me her childrens' prayers and tears played a role in the miracle of these dogs being promoted, rescued, and fostered out as a bonded pair- out of 530+ dogs at the very crowded MDAS during these brutal summer months.

Their story does NOT end here. Their foster, Desiree, has her own pair of medium-sized, female rescue dogs, and doesn't live in a very big house herself. Mimi and Duchess are doing GREAT with her dogs, and have their own unique, fun personalities, but they really need a home of their own. These girls will bark to alert when someone approaches the home (good), and love trips to the dog park. Duchess is more shy at first and 'regal-like' hence her name. She's a 'people dog' more than a dog-dog although she's good with other dogs her size (smaller ones not recommended as we don't experience with these girls with smaller dogs), and MiMi loves playing with other dogs, but loves people too. -They're a great team, a great balance.

Mimi and Duchess are current on vaccines, spayed, heartworm negative, mange-negative (Mimi just has some older skin issues clearing up with medicated shampoo now), and microchipped. Their adoption fee, as a pair, is just $65. Our goal is to get them into a GREAT home- could it be with you or someone you know?

These dogs are also great with kids. They have lived with kids. Cats: no idea.
