At just 1.5 years old and 36 pounds, Mia is a petite bully mix with the softest eyes and a heart that’s still learning what it means to feel safe.

When she arrived at the shelter, she had urine stains on her coat—a quiet sign that life hadn’t been kind to her before. Likely kept in conditions no dog should ever know. Forgotten. Overlooked.

And yet… she is still so gentle.

Mia is shy at first, but incredibly sweet. She moves through the world softly, as if she’s trying not to take up too much space—but once she starts to trust you, you can see the love she’s been holding in all along.

Mia has a beautiful, balanced energy—peaceful, easygoing, and just wanting to be near someone kind.

She is fully up to date on vet care and ready for a new beginning.

A clean bed. A gentle voice. A home where she never has to feel neglected again.

She doesn’t need much.

Just someone who will finally show her what love feels like.

Rescue Coop is a registered 501c that saves dogs from imminent euthanasia and at risk situations and transports them directly to approved adopters nationwide. We are located in SC but in three years, we have placed 450 dogs in 20 states. We post our dogs in the areas we regularly transport to. Our adoption fee is $200 with no additional transport charges. Unfortunately we are unable to do meet and greets but our adoption coordinators strive to make excellent matches. With a distinctive short coat and strong build, American Staffordshire Terriers are often misunderstood due to their past as fighting dogs, but they are actually loving and playful pets when raised in a nurturing environment. They thrive on human interaction and are eager to please their owners.
