Dolly is the absolute cutest pocket pittie bully girl that we have ever seen. She has the most gorgeous markings, the cutest puppy eyes, and she is the happiest/wiggliest baby .
Dolly has had a hard life both before and during foster. She was found as a stray by animal control in really rough shape - very skinny with bad dermatitis. Her back was nearly hairless and fully scabbed. She has been healing in foster care but she had so much street living to heal from. Her GI tract was pretty much wrecked from surviving on whatever she could get her hands on, including her own poop. All of that created a lot of inflammation in her system, which led to multiple rounds of medications to try to heal her gut. With the guidance of our internal medicine specialist, we now feel that Dolly's gut has been healed, but she still has quite a ways to go in order to gain healthy weight. Our girl is still such a skinny little thing. The body takes a while to adjust from street living!
Dolly is a medium energy girl - she loves to go on walks, zoom around the yard with dog friends, and play. She also ADORES cuddling. She would love nothing more than to be touching her human all day. She also loves to cuddle up with her dog friends. Dolly does not know about space/boundaries so she will try to share any dog bed with another dog, get into your lap, and overall, try to be as close to another living being as possible.
For dog friends, Dolly does very well with dogs her size and bigger. However, any dog in a forever family would need to be okay with Dolly wanting to be in their space. not all dogs love that. She also does need to be observed with toys/treat, as she has shown resource guarding with other dogs over higher value items like bones.
Dolly is a no-go on cats. Our girl does have a prey drive for cats.
She is wonderful with people and has never met a stranger. She even loves going to the vet because that means more people will love on her!
Dolly is crate trained and potty trained. She should absolutely be crated whenever her humans leave the house, as she does like to explore and try to eat whatever she can when left unsupervised. She is potty trained, but will try to eat her own poop if left unattended, so quick pick-ups are a must! Can you blame her? Poor girl was just trying to survive on her own for who knows how long.
Dolly is just love and affection through and through. She is soul dog material.
Dolly is:
37lbs but really should be closer to 45lbs - needs to gain weight
