Bart is basically the class clown of the dog world. This boy is playful, spunky, goofy, and always ready to have a good time! Whether he's wrestling and playing with his dog friends, having fun with his person, or entertaining himself in the yard by tossing around his favorite toy, Bart knows how to make the most out of every moment.
And his absolute favorite playmate? His best friend Deena! These two have so much fun together and watching them play is guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
Bart is great with other dogs and has done well around the cat. He has mostly been around teenagers since coming into foster care, but I think he would do well with children of different ages. Because Bart is a young, playful guy with plenty of spunk, I would be a little more cautious with very small children simply because he could accidentally knock them over when he gets excited.
But don't let his goofy, playful personality fool you—Bart knows how to turn the volume down, too. He isn't what I would consider a high-energy dog. He doesn't constantly jump all over you or run circles around the house. He's simply a young boy who is full of life and loves having fun, but he's equally happy to settle down beside his person and just chill.
Bart is housebroken, crate trained, and leash trained. If he's left in his crate for an especially long period of time, he may occasionally have an accident, so a home where he can get regular potty breaks would be ideal.

Bart's Story
Bart's life didn't start out the way it should have.
He and his best friend Deena were part of a heartbreaking hoarding case that our rescue took on in January. Animal Control seized around 40 dogs who had been neglected and malnourished, many suffering from severe skin issues. It was one of the saddest cases we've seen.
But somehow, Bart never let that life define him.
From the moment he arrived, his personality has shown us exactly who he is. You would never know that this goofy, happy boy spent so long being neglected and mistreated. Bart doesn't want to dwell on the past—he wants to leave it behind and spend the rest of his life loving his person.
This boy has a heart of gold. He wants to please you, be with you, make you laugh, and be your loyal companion. He deserves a family who will show him that the life he once knew is nothing compared to the life he has ahead of him.
