Great on leash-no reactivity, does not pull.
Dog Selective-has been with small dogs and large dogs but really prefers to be the only dog. We are only going to rehome him in a home where he is the only dog. He is a big dog, and we just want all dogs in the home to be safe.
We really want this boy back in a home where he belongs. We love our boarding facility, but boarding is not a long-term solution for any dog, and it is not sustainable financially. Pugsley is usually taken for an outing every weekend and has been to a couple adoption events. After reading his story we are hoping you will want help.
Pugsleys life with us started March 31, 2025, when he was sprung from SASA. There were 2 dogs that were going to be euthanized out of 25-30 dogs, and we could not let him go down. Both dogs found rescue, we chose Pugsley. Pugs had an adopter on the East Coast; so we raised the funds for him to head East in April. But as the dog got on transport things with the adopter started changing. We no longer trusted the adopter and decided we were not going to place him in that home. Luckily, Pugsley was on transport with Jill from Rides 4 Paws Transport . Her home base is Indiana. She agreed to bring him home with her, while we looked for a foster. We thought we might find a home for him there more easily as that state did not seem to be as saturated with homeless pets as CA. He stayed at All Under One Woof for boarding, great place, when he first got there. Because we had no contacts there, we could not find a rescue we could work with and after being in the boarding facility for 3 months we decided he needed to head back to Cali. Well, one of his caretakers at boarding fell in love with him and asked her grandmother to foster him and she agreed. Pugsley was loved and in a home for over a year until Grandma moved and the home she was moving to had 2 small dogs that did not welcome Pugsley. Grandmas heart was broken; she really wanted to keep him. So, we called Jill again and Pugsley headed back to Cali a couple of months ago. And here we are now.
He is in a fantastic boarding facility, but he really needs to be in a home. At the facility he was in big play groups at first, but over time, he began reacting in large groups. So, he is now getting time out by himself. When he was on transport with Jill, he loved the small dogs that travel with her, but that was a temp situation as well. We feel he wants to be an only dog. Can you open your heart and your home to Pugs? He is a big lug, indifferent, but huggable, great on leash and in the car, kid tested and just wants a couch to chill on. According to Grandma he is an easy keeper. Wed love to add you and your family to our pack! Please consider helping Pugsley and fostering for our rescue.
