**SILAS: THE COMEBACK KID NOBODY TALKS ABOUT ENOUGH**
Look at these photos.
The first one is Silas today healthy, happy, shiny-coated, and smiling.
The second one is Silas when we first met him.
And if that doesn't stop you in your tracks, it should.
Someone let this dog down long before we found him. Yet somehow, Silas decided humans were still worth trusting.
Now let's talk honestly about him.
Silas isn't a "love everybody and everything immediately" kind of dog. He's a strong, confident dog with opinions. Most of the time he has been around other dogs, things have actually gone perfectly fine. He's had many successful interactions over the years, including one memorable incident where a neighboring dog literally broke into his kennel. No fight. No drama. No food aggression. Just Silas being Silas.
That said, Silas has been involved in fights in the past, which is why we are careful and transparent. We believe his challenges stem more from dominance and conflict issues than outright aggression. If another dog challenges himor if he thinks they're challenging him he isn't likely to back down.
Because of that, a home where he can be the only pet would absolutely be the easiest and safest option.
But let's be clear about something:
Silas is not aggressive.
Silas is not broken.
Silas is not unadoptable.
He's simply a dog who deserves to be evaluated as an individual instead of being dismissed because he's not a fluffy puppy who gets along with every living creature he meets.
What Silas is, is loyal. Resilient. Funny. Loving. And incredibly deserving of a family of his own.
If you're local and think Silas might be a fit, we're happy to arrange meet-and-greets with resident dogs and take things slowly. We aren't looking for just any home for Silas, we're looking for the right one.
Because after everything he's overcome, this boy deserves someone who sees the dog he is today, not the assumptions people make about him.
And trust us... he's worth getting to know.
