Meet Wilder, formerly known as Willmert! We think his new name fits his personality perfectly.

At just 10–12 months old, Wilder has a whole lot of life, love and energy ahead of him!

At the shelter, he was Mr. Popular and a certified playgroup rockstar. He was so friendly and social with other dogs that staff used him as a tester dog to help assess how other dogs interacted with their peers.

And somehow, this happy, social boy still found himself on the euthanasia list.

Wilder is safe now, but he’s ready for his next chapter: adventures, playtime, and a family of his own. He would thrive with an active family willing to help him burn off that puppy energy and continue teaching him everything a young dog needs to know.

A friendly, playful dog sibling would be a dream come true! A buddy to wrestle with, run with, and share his days with? That’s Wilder’s kind of life.

He’s already shown how easily he makes friends. Now he needs someone to give him a place to belong.
