Joe -URGENT - Akita Dog Available for Adoption in New Orleans, Louisiana

This is an URGENT situation. Joe is a pure bred Akita.
This innocent pup was abandoned on the side of the rode with his buddy another dog & a 30 lb bag of dog food. The horrible owner apparently dumped his/her pets & left . They patiently sat & waited for the return of their owner who never returned. How can someone dump/abandon their pets who gave only loyalty & love?
A kind veterinarian is holding on to Joe until she can figure out where he can go. He will be fully vetted upon release. The vet needs a place for him to go ASAP.
Joe is very sweet, affectionate, may be about about 5 yrs old.
Gets along with other dogs. Housetrained.
