Akita Dogs Available for Adoption in Meherrin, Virginia

Sookie was rescued from a rural animal control. She was surrendered, with other dogs and farm animals, by her owner due to an advanced medical diagnosis.
She is a “wooly” Akita (an Akita with long hair) and is a real showstopper! Gorgeous in every way!
If you like the breed, you’re gonna adore Sookie! She is an alert, engaging, and fun companion that is curious and loves to explore. She would make an excellent adventure buddy for some lucky adopter.
At 4 years and 66lbs, she’s the perfect age.
An ideal home would be one where she doesn’t have to compete for affection with other dogs, she would love to be the only princess in the home! Fenced yard to explore would be a plus!
Home ownership required, and breed knowledge/experience preferred.
