Zena - A Big Personality Looking for Someone Who Speaks Cat
Zena has kittens to graduate and ready to move on, places to investigate, and opinions to share. Now that her three boys - Zack, Zane, and Ziggy - are growing up, this busy mama is ready for a home where she can be the main attraction.
Active, curious and involved in whatever is happening, Zena brings plenty of personality to everyday life. She’ll join you on the sofa for some television, enjoy your company, then head off to investigate her next project. She has a wonderfully affectionate side too - sometimes rolling upside down to welcome petting and belly rubs.
Zena’s ideal person will enjoy her affection and respect her when she is finished. When she has had enough petting, she may swat or bite. Her swats usually come without claws, but her bites can cause injury, even though they rarely broke the skin of her foster mom. Her signals can be subtle, so she needs someone attentive who has experience with cats who become overstimulated during petting.
She isn’t a cat who seeks people out to attack. She seeks companionship, but handling requires awareness, and her adopter must be comfortable accepting and managing this behavior.
Zena would be best in an adult-only, indoor home with a confident, experienced cat person, plenty of interactive play, and interesting things to explore. Because of her biting and risk of skin tears she is not a suitable match for children or seniors.
She would love to be your only cat. She does not get along with female cats, although she has enjoyed the company of a few males. A home with a compatible male cat might be considered with careful introductions. She is looking for a home separate from her kittens.
There is so much to enjoy about Zena: her curiosity, her company, her affectionate moments, and that unmistakable spark. She needs someone who can appreciate all of her while giving her clear boundaries and room to be herself.
