Quincy - Tuxedo and Domestic Long Hair Cat for Adoption in Newark, New Jersey

Meet Quincy! This sweet guy has not had it easy. Quincy was living on the streets, in a neighborhood that isn’t always kind to cats. Quincy would happily approach anyone, which can be dangerous for him. He was super sweet and just wanted attention. Some kind people took Quincy off the street and found him a home. Unfortunately, the person who took Quincy reported he was acting a bit aggressive and not very friendly. They gave Quincy back to his finders, and they didn’t want to put him back on the streets, so they contacted us. Although we are at our absolute limit, we wanted to help Quincy. Thank goodness they didn’t put him back on the street! Quincy was severely matted and had to be sedated and totally shaved. He had infected wounds from how bad the matting was, and had to be put on antibiotics. Quincy also had EXTREMELY painful teeth problems. He had exposed roots from broken teeth. We got Quincy a dental. So far, since being vetted, Quincy has been very sweet with us. We honestly think his “aggression” was from being in severe pain. He may also have a spicy side, but we haven’t seen that yet.

Quincy would love a cat experienced, patient home. Someone who will give him a real chance now that he isn’t in pain. Someone who will let him decompress and let him get comfortable. He seems to get along with other cats.
