Darling - Tuxedo Cat Available for Adoption in Hood River, Oregon

DARLING

Tuxedo
🇺🇸
Hood River, Oregon
May 14th
female, medium, young

DESCRIPTION

Darling took one look at feral colony life and said: absolutely not. This former street cat, estimated around a year old, made a very sensible decision to trade the outdoor hustle for chin scratches and warm laps, and she has never looked back. She came in skinny and skeptical, and has since plumped up beautifully into the pampered princess she always knew she was destined to be. She is a little shy at first, but do not be fooled. This girl is MOTIVATED. The promise of a good chin scratch or a back leg scritchie is apparently worth conquering any fear, and she will absolutely drag herself out of her comfort zone for the right pair of hands. Give her a moment to collect herself, and she will reward you with purrs and, on a good day, will let you carry her around like a baby. Her foster teen does it regularly, and Darling tolerates this with remarkable dignity. She is also a huntress, and don't you forget it. The plush lifestyle has not softened her one bit. Wiggle a toy in her direction, and you will witness something ancient and magnificent. She goes from pampered princess to apex predator in about half a second flat. Darling also has needs. Specifically, the sink. Running. For drinking. Every couple of hours, ideally. She has a perfectly good bowl and uses it just fine, but that is entirely beside the point, and she will make sure you understand that with increasingly loud commentary if you forget. A quick tip for life with Darling: if you ever can't find her, stop looking down. She has claimed every high surface available to her and surveys her domain like the tiny empress she is. She still enjoys fresh air on a safe patio, a nod to her scrappy past, but make no mistake, she is fully committed to the soft life now. She is currently living happily with two adults and a teen, but her feelings about dogs and small children are unknown. She would do best in a calm home where she can build her confidence on her own timeline, with good light, high shelves, a running sink, and someone with patient hands.
