Sometimes rescue isn't just about healing a body, it's about showing a cat that life can be soft, safe, and kind.

Patches is a senior girl who came to us after a life that we don't believe was always very kind to her. For the last 6-7 months, a caring person began looking out for her and helping her get healthier. Eventually, Patches found herself at the shelter, but with a mouth causing her tremendous pain and significant dental care ahead of her, the cost of treatment became a barrier for that kind human.
That's how Patches came to Whiskers.

And perhaps the most beautiful part of her story is watching her change a little more every day. You can actually see her beginning to trust kindness, leaning into a gentle touch, relaxing when someone speaks softly to her, and discovering that being cared for doesn't have to hurt or come with strings attached.
Patches needs more than just an adopter. She needs a truly special human who understands that earning the heart of a senior girl like her is a privilege. Someone patient and gentle who will continue showing her, day after day, that the hard part is over.

We can't erase Patches' past, but we can make sure that everything ahead of her is filled with warm beds, soft voices, gentle hands, and all the love she should have had from the beginning.

The American Curl is a unique and elegant breed known for its distinctive curled back ears that give it a charmingly friendly and alert expression. Originating from the Lake Van region in Turkey, these cats are highly energetic, playful, and sociable, forming strong bonds with their human families. Renowned for their love of water, Turkish Vans are excellent swimmers and enjoy splashing around. Their affectionate nature and lively personality make them a popular choice for families seeking an active and engaging feline companion.
