We are working together with this wonderful vet to help save more lives. If she is the one for you, please do apply. Katrina was a stray cat trying to survive on the streets of Shell Rock, Iowa. She was being fed by a kind lady so that helped keep her alive. After trying to find an owner with no luck, another resident contacted us, and we were able to take this sweet cat in. Katrina is up to date on shots now, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and was already spayed and front declawed. Really glad we could take her in as declawed cats do not survive long on the streets because they cannot catch food or fight off predators.
Katrina is about 5 years old as of October 2026. She is super friendly and very loving. And wow does she purr and purr. One little pet and her motor is running and it is loud. I cannot express enough how sweet this cat is, even to someone she has just met. If you are looking for a cat to love on and keep you company, she is the one!
She has not been around cats or dogs yet. Will update later once we know more about her. Seems like she would be ok around children as she is very easy going.
Katrina's adoption fee is $95.00.
WE ARE A NO-KILL 501-C-3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE. All donations are tax deductible. We do not have a shelter. All pets live in foster homes. We only adopt to indoor homes. To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. We do background checks on all applicants. All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters.
Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each dog and cat we take in. $350 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the animal had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office
