Sandra D is the kind of cat who lets you read the first chapter before revealing she's the best part of the entire book.

This stunning tortie has been waiting far too long for a home, and honestly? We think it's because people keep overlooking two things: she's FIV positive, and she's not the type of cat who walks into a new environment acting like she owns the place.

Instead, Sandy does what most cats do. She takes a little time to settle in, figure out her surroundings, and decide you're trustworthy.

And once she does?

Game over.

Suddenly, she's rubbing her cheeks all over you, pressing her body against yours, climbing into your lap, and looking at you with so much love you'll wonder how you ever lived without her. This girl absolutely adores her people. She is affectionate, gentle, sweet, and one of the biggest lovebugs in foster care.

Sandra would thrive in a quieter home with someone who understands that the best relationships aren't always instant. Give her a little patience, and she'll reward you with a lifetime of companionship.

She loves Churus, Temptations, puzzle toys, lap time, and showing off her toy-hunting skills. But more than anything, she loves being loved.

And about that FIV diagnosis? Please don't let it stop you from meeting an amazing cat. FIV is only transmitted through deep, aggressive bite wounds - not through sharing food bowls, water bowls, litter boxes, grooming, cuddling, or simply living together. Sandra is wonderful with other cats, has zero aggression, and can safely live with FIV-negative feline friends.

The truth is that Sandy isn't a project, a challenge, or a special case.

She's just a wonderful cat waiting for someone to see past the label and discover the sweetheart underneath.
