Charlene is currently staying in a foster home in Madison with her sister Addy and two dogs and three other cats. She was rescued as a kitten born outside in March of 2024, along with her siblings. She was not used to living with people, so she stayed in a loving foster home with experience socializing community cats, and made a lot of progress in the year that she spent there. It truly takes a village to fully socialize community cats.
Charlene is fine with other pets who are calm and will give her space. She is not comfortable around children. She is shy at first, but is sweet and enjoys attention after she settles in. She needs an owner with patience, and would do best in a quiet, calm household. She would love to be adopted as a pair with her sister Addy.
Charlene is 2 years old, and has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated for rabies/distemper, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV. Her adoption fee is $250.
ABOUT: CALICO CAT BREED
The Calico cat is known for its unique tri color coat pattern of white, orange, and black. These cats are almost always female due to their genetics, with their striking coats often displaying a patchwork appearance. Calicos are not a specific breed but rather a color pattern found in various breeds, including American Shorthair and Persian. They are typically lively, affectionate, and confident felines, making them popular and charming companions in many households.
The Tortoiseshell cat is known for its unique coat pattern that blends various hues of red, black, and orange in a striking mosaic. These cats are predominantly female due to the genetics behind their coat coloration. Tortoiseshells are often affectionate and independent, with individual personalities that shine through. Their coats are a beautiful patchwork of colors, making them highly sought-after pets for cat lovers seeking a companion with a vibrant and dynamic appearance.
