Harlan - Tabby and Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Newark, New Jersey

Harlan is a chunky girl who didnt have a great life, but shes making up for lost time! Harlan was living amongst a feral cat colony, and was believed to be feral. She didnt seem like she wanted anything to do with people. She was trapped, spayed, and released back to her colony. For 2 more years, Harlan lived outside. Then, one winter, she sought shelter with several other cats in a building, and the building owner trapped the cats inside the building to kill them (by leaving them there to starve/dehydrate.) We became alerted to this and were able save her and the other cats. At that point, we knew even if they were feral they needed to come to the rescue for their own safety.

Well, Harlan is NOT feral and it seems she never was. She immediately acted like a house cat, and seemed so grateful to finally be off the streets. She enjoys being pet and given attention, and while not a lap cat, she will definitely make for an amazing companion for some lucky person or family! Harlan is laid back and good with other cats.
