Goofball - Tabby Cat for Adoption in Kennewick, Washington

Hello! My name is Goofball.

I like to chase ping pong balls, stuffed mice, and feathers on a stick. I like to sleep in laps or next to you. I think cat trees are cool, and I like to sleep on top of them. When I meow, which is more of a squeak, I sometimes stick out my tongue. I am very inquisitive as there is so much to explore. My fur is the softest you will find. I am friendly and like people. I get along well with my foster parents’ senior cats. I am not sure if I like dogs, but I definitely don’t like raccoons.

I am litterbox trained and very patient while my foster mom clips my front claws. I’ve had my first shots. My foster parents feed me wet food for breakfast and dinner. Kibble is available all day. I am good at self-regulating my kibble intake and don't gobble it up all at once. My foster parents are still teaching me not to get up on tables, scratch the sofa, or climb the potted ficus tree, but I am doing better each day. I am pretty well behaved at night, but sometimes get the zoomies. I have never tried to escape from the house.

I had a rough start to life, but I am hoping that you can provide me a peaceful forever home. I will repay you with friendship, sitting in your lap, purring, and being a general goofball. I was part of an eight-kitten litter. My mother abandoned me at five weeks old. Soon after I was attacked by a mean raccoon who bit two of my legs, poked holes in my ears and bit my face. I was pretty beat up, but I am a tough kitten and bounced back. My soon-to-be foster parents chased away the raccoon and found me hiding under a nearby rose bush. They took me to the emergency vet, cared for me during my rehabilitation, and trained me as an indoor cat. They already have three cats, so I must find a new home. I am all healed up now except the doctor says my left tear duct may be permanently damaged and sometimes there are tears on my face. But my tears don’t mean that I am sad, and it doesn’t hurt anymore. However, I’d rather not see another raccoon in my life.
