DEVOTED LAP CAT AND CHILL PARTNER
DOB 4/2/22
Hey there, everyone! I’m Bliss, an affectionate, cuddly, and people-oriented brown Classic tabby gal who’s Foster Meowmy’s devoted playmate, lap cat, chill partner, and bedfellow. If you have a penchant for Classic tabbies because we’re so rare, then you’ll consider the bold marble swirls on my sides uniquely stunning. (What tabby would want to look like a fish skeleton anyway when you can look like travertine marble??)
Although I’m a proponent of slow introductions, I like new people and dogs. On the other hand, I find other cats detestable, so I will hiss and chase them away if they get too close. I can play a mean soccer game with my jingle-bell ball, will flip or toss my catnip mouse around, and wear myself out when Foster Meowmy tantalizes me with the feathered wand toy. Although I’m a great companion, when Foster Meowmy’s not available and I need to entertain myself, I’m content to be a loner who’s a mesmerized window gazer.
I was adopted as an 8-month-old kitten from Sugar Land Animal Control as a man’s Christmas present for his wife. When this couple divorced, I was dumped outside and abandoned in a very large apartment complex, where I was bullied by the resident outdoor/ community cats. Fortunately, a resident Good Samaritan saw that I was severely underweight and brought me to the safe haven of her apartment, but based on my past fearful feline interactions, I acted aggressively toward her cats. Eventually Foster Meowmy stepped up to the plate and brought me to her home. With Foster Meowmy’s gentle voice and affectionate touch, over time I learned to trust hoomans and tolerate dogs, but I could never make the jump to feel anything but threatened by her cats.
Although I had a rough start in life, now I’m ready to live my best life in a quiet, single-cat household where I can have my hoomans all to myself – except for maybe sharing them with a dog. I’d probably do best in a home without the noise and chaos of small children. Incidentally, there are advantages to a cat like me who’s beyond the stage of kitten frenzy. I’m much less likely to cause chaos in your home or break your prized accessories. Arrange to meet me today! Let’s write new chapters in our lives together!
