Izz formerly Isabel is a special kitty. We first thought he was a girl and sometimes that is the case when we save them at a young age. We know now that Isabel is a male kitty and we renamed him Izz.

Before reading any further, we want to tell you just how special Izz is. His foster mom noticed that he had a possible vision issue so on Sept 8, he was taken to Dr. Tucci, a specialty eye veterinarian. Unfortunately, Izz has Immature Nuclear Cataracts. However, that is not the end of his story.

It is only the beginnning.

Izz is a tiny bundle of love who sees the world just a little bit differently. His eye condition makes his vision a bit blurry—kind of like looking through a smudged pair of glasses! This resilient little kitten loves to play, cuddle just like other kittens. No difference there!

Izz might occasionally misjudge a jump or pause in dim lighting, but his spirit is 100% unstoppable. He loves crinkle balls, feather wands, and anything that makes noise.

We are looking for a patient adopter who can keep the furniture in the same place while Izz can learn the layout. It must be an indoor-only home where Izz can be comfortable. Another cat in the house may also be a good idea so that Izz can learn from a fellow feline.

Ideal Home: Indoor-only, minimal rearranging of furniture, and full of love.

Medical Status: Has partial vision; requires a veterinary ophthalmic check-up during routine annual exams to monitor progression.

Izz has two littermates that are named Peppermint and Patty. We recognized them to be bonded so they will be adopted together. Izz does enjoy playing with his littermates, but he is also more independent.
