Sofia - Tabby Cat for Adoption in Carson City, Nevada

If cats have guardian angels, Sofia's angel is exhausted and ready for a break. Life has been one challenge after another for this sweet, resilient little 2 year old medium-haired tabby.

Sofia first showed up at a feral feeder last winter, skinny and scared. By spring of 2026, she was extremely pregnant and being stalked by a hungry coyote. We agreed to take her in. Days after being placed in a Catmandu foster home, she gave birth to 5 adorable kittens. Once the kittens were weaned, she went to the vet to be spayed and vaccinated. A few days later, tragedy struck. Sofia developed an intussusception. A section of her intestine telescoped in on itself, creating a life-threatening blockage. Emergency surgery with a $4000 price tag fixed the problem once and for all. It is not likely to ever recur and she has no lingering issues from her ordeal.

Sofia is now completely healthy. She has a sweet and winning purrsonality that will bring love and joy to the family who is lucky enough to take her home.

She can live with other friendly cats, but has never been around dogs.

Spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped; Sofia is ready for her furrever home.

If you would like to meet this special furball, please fill out the Online Pre-Adoption Questionnaire on our website, https://www.catmanducc.org/copy-of-adoption. Then come by Catmandu Friday through Sunday for a meet and greet and to talk with an adoption specialist. Adoption hours are 11 am to 4 pm. Plan to arrive no later than 3 pm so you have time to spend with the cats before adoptions close at 4. Please bring a carrier in case you find your purrfect friend.
Renters must bring a copy of their lease showing they are allowed to have a cat.
