Challah is a 7 month old snowshoe siamese manx who is a little special. Challah's leg were deformed at birth and her ankle is on the back side of her leg. Her tendons are super constricted and despite trying for surgery there was nothing we could do to fix it. They do have feeling and she does walk about just fine! She doesn't jump well but she can pull her self up. She will need a single story home, more carpets and rugs than hard wood. She will need a family who is willing to work closely with a vet to help her maintain a thinner figure which will help her avoid pressure sores. It is our belief and our vets that with the right home she can live a long life pain free.
This little girl doesn’t let her legs slow her down! She takes a little time to warm up but once she does, she wants nothing more than to be hanging in your lap (on the floor). She loves climbing all over your legs. She loves playing with toys, and has a pretty strong up body, she will play tug a war with you!
She isn’t a fan of being left alone in a room by herself. She very much loves having another cat’s company.
She doesn’t like to be carried. We feel it’s really just because of her back legs. She feels safer lower to the ground. She can run and jump. She is able to grab ahold of fabric and pull herself up… but it can take a couple times. She can easily jump onto smoother surface that are about a foot of the ground. Ideally she will need a home with lower cat trees she can easily hold onto to climb.
She isn’t a fan of big noises or a lot of chaos at this time, she will hide. But the second it calms down she is back out trying to explore everything.
Would do best in a house with older kids, that can understand her needs so no kids under the age of 12 years old. She has been around cats age 7 months to 3 years but has not been around dogs. Due to her legs I would say no dogs unless they are super super lazy or older.
Please see comments on adoption post, we will add videos, so you can see how she gets/moves around.
Adoption fee is $150. She is fixed, chipped, dewormed, flea treated, vaccinated, and had a wellness exam.
