Meet Gustav

This handsome long-haired Scottish Fold is an absolute sweetheart through and through. Gustav is playful with other cats, easygoing with dogs, and has never once had a negative reaction to either - he's just happy to have friends around. But what he really loves is people. He's a total cuddle bug who wants nothing more than to sleep right on you, purring the whole time.

Fun fact: Gustav is currently shaved (it helped keep him clean and comfortable while his diarrhea was getting under control), but don't let that fool you - there are photos proving he's got a gorgeous, fluffy long coat underneath, and it'll grow right back.

A little about his health: Gustav has had some bowel issues since arriving at the shelter, and a daily steroid pill along with a hypoallergenic (hydrolyzed protein) diet have helped manage his diarrhea well. He'll need to stay on this special food and continue regular check-ins with a vet to keep things on track. As a Scottish Fold, he also carries a higher risk of joint and cartilage issues (a breed trait tied to the same gene that gives him his folded ears), so he may need extra monitoring or care as he gets older.

Because of this, Gustav is looking for an adopter who's financially prepared for both his current care and the possibility of ongoing vet needs down the road - someone who can give him not just love (which he'll return tenfold) but stability too.
