Caspian - Ragdoll Cat for Adoption in Porum, Oklahoma

CASPIAN

Ragdoll
🇺🇸
Porum, Oklahoma
July 17th
male, large, adult

DESCRIPTION

So Caspian showed up on our back deck several months ago -- at first he would jump off every time he saw me, but after about a week or two, he began sticking around when I would give everyone breakfast (a teaspoon or so of canned cat food) and then finally he allowed me to pet him -- that was an exciting day and the first time I got to look at him really closely and see his gorgeous ice blue eyes!

I call him a ragdoll and he does allow me to pick him up, but he doesn't melt into your body and go limp in your arms like a ragdoll does, but I had no idea what else to call him. Caspian is an adventurer and he really prefers to be outside. He does do well inside though but he will sit by the window and LOOK outside longingly. I haven't tried to keep him inside very often, mainly after he got neutered until he was healed up, but it was clear it was not his preference, though he's not noisy about it either so that's a plus.

I thought he was older but our vet said he's only about three so he has many, many good healthy years ahead of him. He's happy here, but we are now up to eight (all rescues which never moved on or got adopted -- must be the food, lol) and I think there is someone out there who can be his special "love" -- his favorite thing is FOOD.

Shortly after he arrived a young Siamese female, Pixie, also showed up (available in another ad) and he is so mellow with her and all of our other outside cats -- which is probably where the ragdoll comes in. He's happy to be submissive and not be the alpha, he's really a sweetheart. He's never ever tried to scratch or bite me, even when putting him in a crate. I don't know his origins, but once he got over his fear of me, he's never looked back or balked. And, he's oh so soft, though would probably be softer if he were brushed more often!

He's been wormed, vaccinated, treated for fleas/ticks (Bravecto) and neutered so he is ready to go whenever his person shows up to claim him as their own. If you decide you might be interested, please send me an email telling me about yourself, your family, your home, and why you think he is the "one" for you. Remember, he will likely not make a good inside ONLY kitty, so please keep that in mind for his sake. Therefore, country homes would be best for him -- no city streets!

We have five large dogs, seven other cats, goats, rabbits, ducks, and chickens and he's never bothered any of them. I believe he would be great with children as well, though we do not have any, so I would not recommend super young children who do not know how to treat an animal. But you are welcome to bring them out to meet him! We are located near Porum, OK.
