Paprika - such a SAD story for such an amazing kitten - PLEASE R - Maine Coon and Norwegian Forest Cat Cat for Adoption in Bedford Hills, New York

Poor Paprika! Our 5-6m old floofy licorice love bug, has had it rough! At only 3-4 wks of age, she and her 3 siblings were dumped at a tiny shelter where they grew up in a cage with very little human attention and interaction. As a female, she took it hard... very hard. She was extremely shut down when she was rescued by us, but we did not let that stop us from working day and night to change her mind about people. She is not feral - just was raised in a cage - which is the opposite of what we do. Her incredible foster is amazing and never gave up hope with her. And then... all of a sudden... she realized how lucky she was and began finally to ask for pets and snuggles and purring away was finally HAPPY. Paprika still has a way to go. Small children or a loud home won't work. She will need a small room to start and a very patient new owner. She will probably relapse in a new home just from the change, but we know now that she will eventually relax and be amazing. She is GREAT with other cats and thrives with a friendly cat as a buddy and role model. Very very special girl looking for that right family match!
