If you're looking for a sweet and cuddly little cat, this isn't him! Hugo seems to be stuck in goblin mode - we're sure he will calm down eventually, but it's important for his future family to know that he's currently a wild child. He will need a home that has plenty of time for play! This guy has a lot of energy and he plays hard. Regular play sessions help him to be a more balanced cat. We are not sure how he would do with other cats, or dogs, but we suspect he may like a playmate. He may not be a good fit for home with small children, as he will sometimes express his feelings through nips and scratches. Hugo is a bit of a work in progress, but he will keep you endlessly entertained and love you for giving him a home!This cat is waiting for it's Forever Home!

A cat's behavior in the shelter may not be what it will be like in your home; if the cat is nervous, anxious, or agitated, please know that a shelter is a very stressful place for a cat. Most often, in a home, they thrive!

Kitten Policy: Kittens must be able to socialize with other young cats or dogs as playmates, as it is important for their development. Therefore, CT Cat Connection has a policy that kittens ​and teenagers up to 12 months of age are adopted in pairs unless there is another animal in the household as a playmate and companion.

Due to demand, we do not place cats or kittens on hold. Your visit to the shelter is to meet all cats or kittens available for adoption at the time of visit.
