**Meet Opal**
Opal is a beautiful and unique orange tabby girl with gorgeous markings and a sweet personality. Female orange tabbies are less common than male orange tabbies because the gene responsible for orange coloring is carried on the X chromosome. A female cat needs to inherit the orange gene from both parents to be orange, while a male only needs to inherit it from his mother. That makes sweet Opal an extra-special girl!
Opal is part of a litter of six kittens who were found hiding under a barbecue grill cover. When they were first rescued, they were frightened and had never been held or petted by people. They would scurry away whenever someone approached.
After a few weeks in foster care, these six kittens have completely blossomed. They now love the safety of indoor life, human attention, cuddles, and all the fun that comes with being kittens. And they all share the same wonderful trait—a **loud, happy purr**!
Opal is incredibly sweet and will happily lie nearby and purr simply because you're in the room. She loves human attention but is also a playful little girl who enjoys chasing, wrestling, and playing with her siblings.
Opal has a particularly special relationship with her sister **Sapphire**, who looks almost identical to her. There is one adorable way to tell them apart—**Opal curls the end of her tail!** The two sisters love playing together and are often found chasing toys, wrestling with their siblings, and then settling down together for a cozy kitten nap.
Opal is **available for pre-adoption** and would love to find a forever home where she can continue to have feline companionship. She would be especially happy to be adopted with one of her siblings so she can have a built-in playmate and cuddle buddy as she grows up.
If you're looking for a beautiful orange tabby girl with a big purr, a playful personality, and a sweet nature, Opal could be your perfect match!
