Lieutenant Dan is nothing short of a miracle. When he arrived, this young, unaltered male was in catastrophic condition — his front paw was so severely damaged that bone was protruding through the skin. He underwent immediate care, including neuter surgery and a full amputation of the injured leg.

During his procedure, staff noticed unusual stiffness in his knees. Xrays revealed the full extent of what this brave boy had survived: a fractured pelvis, an additional fracture near the base of his tail, and a broken/dislocated hip requiring FHO surgery. Despite all of this, Lieutenant Dan has fought through every hurdle with quiet strength and a gentle spirit.

Now healed, stable, and officially ready to graduate from foster to forever, Lieutenant Dan is looking for the home that will finally give him the safety he deserved all along. He may take a little time to settle in — understandable, given everything he’s endured — but with patience, kindness, and a soft place to land, he will absolutely blossom.
