Meet Bright Eyes
Bright Eyes didn’t do anything wrong... his world just changed. He was surrendered because his owner had to move and couldn’t take him along. Just like that, the home he knew, the person he loved, the life he was used to... all gone. And now he’s left trying to understand why.
Even with that loss, Bright Eyes is still so full of love.
He’s a beautiful orange boy with the most striking golden-yellow eyes, the kind that look at you with so much warmth and quiet hope. He doesn’t just like affection... he leans into it. He’ll press himself against you, gently placing his paws on your shoulder, resting close to your heart like that’s exactly where he belongs. You can cradle him like a baby, and he’ll happily stay there, soaking in every second of closeness. He’ll roll onto his back for belly rubs, purring softly as if to say thank you for not letting go.
At first, he may be a little shy. When someone new walks in, he might step back, unsure. But give him just a moment... because he always comes back. Always chooses connection. Always chooses love.
That’s what makes this so hard... he still believes in people, even after losing everything familiar.
Bright Eyes is currently at PetSmart Naperville, being showered with authentic love and care by our volunteers. But even with all the love we give him, it’s not the same as having a home of his own... a person of his own... a place where he knows he gets to stay.
