Heidi and her sister Hannah were trapped in a cat colony during a trap-neuter-return (TNR) project. They were very scared and not very trusting of people, but their rescuer saw something in them that gave her hope that they would be sweet and wonderful pets. Now they are in their second foster home, showing them that different people can all be loving and kind. They hide a lot at first and even hissed a bit, but quickly learned that yummy food, treats and fun toys were all part of the deal... Not to mention an awesome window to watch all the birds and squirrels from!
These two now run (and are often waiting at the door) to their foster mom when it's time to scoop litter, feed wet food, play or just hang out with them. They seem to be okay with other kitties, they may hiss at first, but tend to relax over time. They have not had the opportunity to meet a dog yet, but we are working on that at their pace.
Heidi is probably more shy than Hannah, although she was the first one to allow pets and started her purr motor! She will run and hide a bit more than Hannah, but is getting better. Her foster mom says that once you earn her trust though, she is a total love bug! She seems to want pets and love so badly, but is a little conflicted with the scariness of people. She would definitely need a loving and patient family to help her gain more confidence and come out of her shell. She would love to go to a forever home with Hannah, she seems to look to her for comfort and to feel more confident.
Adoption fees are $80 each, includes spay/neuter, FIV/FeLV testing, core vaccines, deworming, flea prevention and microchip.
