Prince has spent a lifetime believing that when someone chooses you, it means forever. Sadly, this sweet senior boy is still waiting for his forever to finally come true.

Prince first came to our shelter in 2014, just a tiny grey tabby kitten arriving with his mom. He was adopted and spent the next nine years believing he had found his family. Then his world changed. His humans were divorcing, and neither was able to keep him. At nine years old, Prince found himself back at the shelter where his story began.

We thought his next adoption would be his last. But now, Prince is back with us once again. Today, Prince is a handsome senior gentleman who deserves something very simple: a person who will choose him and keep choosing him.

Prince has hyperthyroidism that is currently managed with Hill’s Prescription Diet y/d wet and dry food. We know the cost of a prescription diet can make someone hesitate to adopt a senior cat, so we want to remove that worry. For as long as Prince is with his adopter, we can provide his Hill’s y/d food at our cost.

What Prince needs now isn’t complicated. He needs a soft place to sleep, gentle hands to love him, and the security of knowing that this time, he really is home. He has lost his home more than once through no choice of his own. Yet he still has love to give. Somewhere out there is the person who will look at this beautiful grey face and say, Prince, you’re coming home with me—and this time, it’s forever. Could that person be you?
