Meet Bermuda,
She was found at a trailer park with her siblings and cousins. Unfortunately they all had a horrible secret laying in wait. All 9 kittens were positive for panleuk, a devastatingly deadly disease to kittens and unvaccinated adults.
Bermuda was the runt of the bunch. She was only 1lb 3oz at 6 weeks old when she was infected. Even with 105 fever, this girl never slowed down. She continues stop eat, drink, play and bounce around her cage. As her siblings crossed the rainbow bridge one by one, somehow this little girl survived. She and her cousin, Jeff, were thee only 2 survivors out of 9 kittens.
Jeff and Bermuda have been in quarantine together for several weeks. Once their fevers had passed and they were eating and drinking normally, we started the clock for an additional 6 weeeks of quarantine for the virus to completely pass out of their systems. They now test negative for any signs of the virus and will carry an immunity to future Panleuk infections. It is still important to vaccinate them for other potential diseases.
They have become very attached to each other and are now a bonded pair.
Bermuda and Jeff are survivors. They beat the odds. We want to see them in the best home living their best lives.
