Meet Penny.
Or as we first knew her: neutered male Biggie Smalls from the Bronx.
Plot twist: Penny is actually a spayed female, and honestly, shes still offended we ever questioned her identity.
Estimated to be around 3 years old, Penny spent most of her life surviving as a stray on the streets of New York, so shes got that tough-girl energy perfected. She didnt come from luxury ... she came from alleyways, attitude, and probably stealing pizza crusts under parked cars.
Her government name is Penny Nickel Dime, but she answers mostly to the sound of a pate can opening.
Penny enjoys:
- Other cats
- Treats
- A GOOD pate
- Being admired from a respectful distance
- Judging humans silently from across the room
Penny does NOT enjoy:
- Being picked up (shell get ya!)
- Sudden movements
- Your audacity (heavy on this one)
- Bananas (absolutely deathly afraid of them for reasons known only to her)
- Being perceived without compensation (treats accepted)
She will absolutely scratch you if you try to scoop her up like some kind of common cuddle cat. HOWEVER... if you come bearing snacks and patience, Penny will allow pets, may bless you with purrs, and could eventually decide you are acceptable.
And by eventually, we mean shell probably need a few months to warm up. Penny believes trust should be earned slowly, dramatically, and with rotisserie chicken.
Her ideal forever home?
Zero humans preferred. Or at least ones that dont move much. Cat friends are acceptable. Penny, probably
She MUST go to a home with other kitty friends because despite her anti-human agenda, she genuinely likes other cats.
If youve been looking for a semi-feral roommate with strong opinions, tiny gremlin energy, unresolved banana trauma, and the potential for emotional growth, Penny Nickel Dime might just be your girl.
fully vaccinated. FIV/FeLV negative. spayed
