Meet Renata

Renata is an 8-year-old sweetheart who is ready for a quiet, loving home where she can finally feel safe and cherished.

After spending her entire life with her previous owner, Renata was surrendered to a shelter to be euthanized through no fault of her own. Understandably, she was very shut down when she first arrived and needed time to process such a huge change, but this gentle girl has come such a long way. With patience, consistency, and plenty of love from her foster mom, Renata has slowly learned to trust again, and now her sweet personality is shining through.

Renata is an absolute cuddle bug. She lights up when her foster mom walks into the room and is always excited when it is time for affection. Every night, she settles onto her foster mom’s lap and happily falls asleep there. She loves being close to her person and getting pet all over. She can also be picked up and handled comfortably. She is quiet, gentle, and incredibly sweet.

Renata has been exposed to other cats and a large dog and showed little to no interest in either. She has not yet been around children, but she has been receptive to meeting and socializing with new adults. Because of her gentle nature and preference for a calm environment, she would likely do best in a quieter home with a predictable routine. Older children who understand how to respect a cat’s space and needs may be a better fit for her than very young children.

While Renata may be a professional lap cat, she still has a playful side! One of her favorite things is her kicker toy, which brings out her playful spirit.

Renata has already experienced the heartbreak of losing the person she trusted for her whole life. Now she is looking for someone who will give her the time, patience, stability, and unconditional love she deserves. In return, she will give you something truly special: a gentle, devoted companion who wants nothing more than to curl up in your lap and be close to her person.

Renata is spayed, vaccinated, and FIV/FeLV negative.
