The kittens were initially being given away for free, so our rescue stepped in to ensure they received proper veterinary care and the best possible start in life.When Leo first entered foster care, he was frightened and overwhelmed—spicier than any kitten his foster mom had ever taken in. But Leo was not mean; he was a scared little baby in an unfamiliar place, and his best friend Willie was crying in pain from a serious eye injury. It was heartbreaking to see how afraid they both were.It took four days before Leo’s foster mom could even get close enough to touch him. She chose the name Leo to represent courage, strength, and the heart of a lion—and this brave little boy has more than lived up to it.As Willie began to heal and feel more comfortable, Leo slowly started to understand that they were both safe. His defenses came down, his playful personality emerged, and the frightened little kitten began to blossom. Today, Leo may be the sweetest cat his foster mom has ever fostered! He spends his days playing, exploring, cuddling, and enjoying every bit of kittenhood alongside Willie.Willie has been Leo’s source of comfort and confidence from the beginning, just as Leo remained close and caring while Willie recovered. The boys are cousins by birth and best friends by choice.
