Rasputin 's Story
Rasputin is a 3-year-old, 9-pound “ghost tabby” with a sleek black coat that reveals the most beautiful subtle stripes when the light hits just right. His mysterious look fits his name—but behind it is a gentle, loving soul who’s just waiting for the right person to give him a chance.
Rasputin’s story started in a tree, where he was found stuck for at least a day—scared, exhausted, and unsure of the world around him. When he was rescued, he was so frightened that we initially believed he might be feral. After getting him vetted, we discovered he was microchipped, but heartbreakingly, his previous owner denied ownership.
We planned to give him a second chance through TNR, but Rasputin told us something important—he refused to leave his carrier. He wasn’t meant for the outdoors. He needed safety, patience, and love. So back inside he came… and that’s when his true personality began to shine.
Rasputin now enjoys his own cozy space complete with a cat tree and his favorite hideaway. He’s perfectly litter box trained and spends his days lounging peacefully. While he may be shy at first, give him a little time and you’ll discover an incredibly affectionate, “needy” boy who absolutely loves being loved. He’ll happily soak up attention—and yes, even belly rubs! He has never shown any aggression and has never tried to bite.
He gets along wonderfully with other cats and is unfazed by small dogs, making him a great addition to a calm, patient home. Rasputin is truly one of the easiest cats—you just need to let him go at his own pace.
All Rasputin needs now is a safe, indoor-only home where he can continue to blossom into the loving companion we know he is.
He is neutered, microchipped, current on vaccinations, and tested negative and for FIV/FeLV.
His adoption fee is $75
